I love to sit down and read my amazing cousins blog... http://stevieandthedreamofhorses.blogspot.com/ it inspires me...gives me hope and makes me realize that people can overcome things in life that would either take a person out or make them Stronger then any of us could imagine. I thought I would give the blog life a go as I have had some challenges in my life and maybe just Maybe someone else will feel better knowing they are not alone!... so Here I go..
My grandmother came in the kitchen the other day and we were chatting about the irony of life... she stated that my grandfather died 3 days after his 1st Retirement check deposited in his bank account. This just really hit me hard. LIFE its unpredictable... you can live your life for a goal, dream and when it comes time for you to achieve it you may not be the one that gets to enjoy it. He did however set my grandmother up for success and she was able to live a life without struggle as she got his retirement and social security. This proves the point that life is about the JOURNEY not the Destination... it also proves that your efforts today can effect not only you but others for years to come...
My father just passed away. He was in love to his girlfriend and they lived together for 16 years... They Finally got married this December... it was such a blessing and gave them such peace Unfortunately he had cancer and it took a drastic turn for the worse and he passed away 3months later.... Its was so heartbreaking and left her without medical, or social security or a retirement ... BUT it gave her a Moment that is Priceless and a gift of love and laughter and let her know that love is real and she was LOVED.... its all so very hard to process... She too is stronger then strong.. hands down amazing and she could have crawled in bed and shut the world out but she has done quite the opposite... She has been a pillar of strength for the family and helped us all take a step as she is doing one day at a time...
so my thoughts today are..... We must all try out best to enjoy the JOURNEY because life is TODAY.... not when we finally hit the finish line.. Not when we can finally retire and relax...My Grandpa Joe always said ENJOY it now kid, when you get old your too Cold, and too tired ...He also said you PLAY you Pay... in that I say we must also learn from our elders for they have gone before us and just may Know a thing or two!!!
